Menengai Krater

Menengai Crater is an extinct volcano with views of Lake Nakuru, Lake Bogoria as well as the crater itself.
It is a large Caldera, formed by millions of years of volcanic activity. The highest point, at some 2,300 m above sea level, has a signpost that shows the directions and distances to several places in the world.

I went up there with Yvonne and Festus. To get there you have to use a taxi or a tuk tuk, so we send Festus to bargain the price to avoid the special mzungu price. We ended up using a tuk tuk, maybe not a wise decission, but very interesting! The three/wheeler is really slow, and not a very strong engine…Festus ran most of the hills, and me and Yvonne also struggled with some of the steep parts. But after almost an hour we were there, and an interesting experience!
From the top you have a wonderful view, and we took an hour to walk around and enjoy!
